1. taking pictures at eye level will make your picture feel more intimate and interesting
2. make sure your background isn't distracting the viewer from the subject
3. if you're outside, try using the flash. the sun could make the subject look dark
4. moving closer to your subject lets the viewers see more intricate details
5. having your subject at the center of the picture makes it look boring. moving your subject to one of the corners or sides lets your viewer see the whole landscape
6. lock the focus so that your subject is in focus. you can do that by holding the shutter button halfway down until it's focused
7. if your subject is farther than the maximum flash range, move them closer so that they don't look dark when using a flash
8. pay attention to the flash to make sure it complements your subject and doesn't make them look bad
9. turning your camera so that it's vertical can make the picture look more flattering. having your camera vertical is ideal for tall objects
10. make sure you tell your subject(s) what to do. if they look better in a certain place, tell them to move there so that your picture turns out nicer and how you want it
